This is the memorial for The Devil's Advocates, a faction in The Matrix Online. We were Merovingian-aligned and played it as a Matrix-style mafia: suits, fedoras, and a few of us in the forms of the rogue programs. The original board ran from 2005 to 2012. Being in the DA was like being part of a family, with triumphs, heartbreak, and dinner-table dysfunction. It had it all.

Because it was the best RP and gaming community I've ever found, and I haven't found one like it since. Not in WoW, not in Secret World, not even in D&D. We had something special, and it should be remembered.

LiterateMisfit, or rather the geek who played her for years.

Liliane ran the original board and was my friend. She's gone now, and this site exists because of her.

No. This is a read-only memorial of the original site, so there's no registering, posting, or private messages. It's a place to remember, not a place that's coming back to life.

Nothing from the old board goes public unless it's my own writing or you've told me it's okay. That's on purpose, because the board was full of real people. If you want something of yours restored or your handle added to the Members List, sign the guestbook, email me at lit_misfit_mxo@proton.me, or find me on Discord. If you'd rather your handle never appear anywhere, tell me and it won't.

The earliest snapshots of the board that exist anywhere date from April 2007. By then a lot was already gone, and much of what survived is partial. Whatever is missing, we're still hunting for it.

If you were part of the DA, or you RP'd with us as friend or foe, I want what you've got. Stories above all, because we're slowly building a history here. Also screenshots, chat logs, sigs, art, event write-ups, anything. Sign the guestbook, email me at lit_misfit_mxo@proton.me, or find me on Discord as LiterateMisfitDA, on a few of the well-known Matrix Online servers. I love to talk, recap days of yore, RP, whatever.

IYKYK.
