What I have instead is the Lyra's relay: a Zion mainframe terminal, stripped to the studs. We pulled the council telemetry, the banners and the audit log, and bolted our own overlay on top. It isn't pretty. It works. When the uplink is open, I'm on the air. You'll see the lights change and the traffic roll in as I key it. Every transmission goes out from the Lyra, addressed to a ship, to the whole fleet, or to the open band for anyone outside the family. Some are routine. Some aren't. If it goes quiet, that doesn't mean I've gone. It means I'm out of range, or I'm busy, or I'm listening. If you're close enough to reach us, key a short burst to lit_misfit_mxo@proton.me. I can't promise to answer every one. I read what I can. Keep your lights on. It's a fan roleplay feed. Only Lit's terminal can send, and the page only receives. There's nothing to type on the page. Uplink Online (flashing green in the Shoutbox, plus an ON AIR light on the terminal) means a transmission session is open right now. The page updates by itself, so you don't need to refresh. When the uplink is offline you can still scroll back through everything that was sent. An open page can take up to about 20 seconds to notice the uplink has changed. Addressees: a ship name is in character, addressed to that ship. ALL SHIPS is in character for the whole fleet. ALL BANDS is an open channel for people outside the DA. OOC is out of character, and those are marked NOTE: OUT OF CHARACTER. Filters: in the Traffic panel you can view messages by ship or by session. A session is one stretch of time the uplink was open. Older messages dim so the newest transmission stands out, and "Load earlier transmissions" goes further back. Static is deliberate. Messages marked SIG: NOISY or BROKEN are garbled on purpose, and a CHK ERR flag on the footer goes with it. It's part of the effect, not a bug. Dates on the terminal use the in-universe year (the real year plus 696). Controls: you can change the phosphor color, turn sound on (it's off by default), switch the CRT effects off, and replay the boot sequence with Reboot. Any key or click skips the boot. Sending a message: you can't reply on the page, but short messages to Lit are welcome at lit_misfit_mxo@proton.me. If there's enough interest, a two-way link may come later.
